Malau

Malau is a side-specifc dance theatre duo exploring the concepts of togetherness and unconditional support in a very playful way. A white fabric represents the desire for freedom on the one side and restriction on the other side and leads the two dancers to different moments of encounters with each other and the audience.

This short piece was initially made for the << international day against violence >> celebrated every year with a special event by the community center Centre Cívic Drassanes in the Raval- neighbourhood of Barcelona. In this area, there is a very high diversity of people coming from different cultural and social backgrounds.
Later, this piece was adapted for the collaboration with Raíces del Mundo, a club event for parties and nightlife in Barcelona and the alternative arts market Urban Art & Music/ artistas emergentes.
